Fundamentals of compression in the management of lymphoedema

Abstract:
This article looks at graduated compression garments, one of the four cornerstones to lymphoedema management. It raises the awareness of the availability of differing compression classes, the differing ways the garments can be knitted and how to apply this to practice. It also aims to raise awareness of the importance of patient education regarding applying and wearing appropriate compression as part of a daily self-management regimen for patients with lymphoedema.
