  • Injuries included deep lacerations on lower extremities (up to 10 cm long, 4 cm deep).
  • One case involved upper abdomen and chest trauma.

  • Wild boar attacks predominantly affect the lower extremities, unlike other large feral animal encounters.
  • Attacks are more common in dense, forested areas and during the wild boar rutting season.

Implications:

  • Findings highlight the need for increased awareness and preventative measures in areas with wild boar populations.
  • Medical professionals should be prepared for specific injury patterns, primarily lower extremity trauma, following wild boar attacks.
