Rehabilitation after operative treatment of carpal instability

Wrist joints form one of the most complicated mechanism of the human body. Both, mobility and stability of the wrist needs a balance between structural elements and applied force. Wrist instability has a complex pathology and the advancement in its understanding helps in operative treatment and rehabilitation. The article presents the physiotherapeutic scheme after operative treatment concerning specific exercises employed in particular moments. Common classification was used including passive, active, supported, isometric, resistant and proprioceptive exercises, moreover, some PNF techniques and patterns. Passive exercises were conducted using dedicated equipment.
