Background:

Caffey's disease, also known as infantile cortical hyperostosis, is a rare condition presenting with bone overgrowth.
Early diagnosis is essential for appropriate management and to differentiate from other bone pathologies like osteomyelitis.
Mandibular involvement in Caffey's disease requires specific diagnostic considerations.

Observation:

A case study of a six-month-old boy with mandibular Caffey's disease is presented.
The initial clinical presentation mimicked osteomyelitis, prompting early diagnostic imaging.
Bone scintigraphy was performed as one of the initial investigations.

Findings:

Bone scintigraphy revealed a highly characteristic imaging pattern indicative of Caffey's disease affecting the mandible.
