Abstract:
This study was a fearless look by staff at their own behavior. It was done to decrease the use of restraints on a very special population. This is a behavioral health partial hospitalization program for 5- to 15-year-olds. The staff did the review of literature and review of their own actions and ultimately chose the Rapid Cycle Model for Improvement. This was a 3-year project that reaped major gains in decreased restraint utilization.
