Selegiline transdermal system (STS) offers a safer alternative for treating major depression by bypassing metabolism, reducing tyramine interactions. This new monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) formulation improves brain delivery and offers a superior safety profile compared to older MAOIs.
