Ethical aspects of oncologic practice

Oncologists must consider the ethical implications of all of their efforts. The patient's welfare and the likelihood of benefit from each therapeutic maneuver should be primary concerns. The author presents a set of general principles and guidelines for the care of cancer patients and others with incurable diseases.
