Abstract:
IgA nephropathy is attributable to mesangial IgA immune complex deposition. The pathogenic potential of frequently colocalized IgG deposits may depend on polarized T-helper cytokines that modulate Fcgamma receptors of infiltrating macrophages, leading to either activation or inhibition that determines glomerular injury.
