1Department of Dermatology, Bukayriyah General Hospital, Bukayriyah, Gassim, Saudi Arabia.
Abstract:
Cutaneous leishmaniasis is endemic in some regions of Saudi Arabia. A case with uncommon hyperkeratotic type of lesion was seen. Being an endemic zone, a slit-skin smear was done and stained with Giemsa's stain. Smears showed Leishman Donovan bodies within and outside the macrophages. Significant improvement, followed by complete resolution of the lesion was seen with ketoconazole treatment.
