[Characteristics of the intellectual-memory function of patients treated by chronic hemodialysis]

The intellectual-memory function of chronically hemodialyzed patients was evaluated according to Wechsler technique. Though intelligence in such patients remains unaffected and there is no dialysis-related dementia, recent memory and attention deteriorate. Psychic adaptation to chronic hemodialysis proved unrelated to mental capacity.
