Arthroscopic Management of Massive Irreparable Rotator Cuff Tears: Whole Rotator Cable Reconstruction Using Proximal Biceps Tendon Autograft

  • 25 patients completed follow-up at a mean of 26.1 months.
  • Main Results:

    • Significant reduction in VAS pain scores from 7.2 preoperatively to 3.1 postoperatively (P=.0001).
    • Improvement in mean Harris Hip Scores from 51 to 77 (P=.0001).
    • Positive changes in SF-36 scores, including physical function (33.6 to 54, P=.022) and pain (28.7 to 51.5, P=.001). One complication (seroma) and one failure requiring open surgery were noted.
