Summary

Nonparasitic chyluria, a rare condition, may resolve spontaneously. Endoscopic neodymium-YAG laser treatment offers a temporary solution for chyluria when conservative methods fail.

Background:

Nonparasitic chyluria is a rare condition characterized by the presence of chyle in the urine.
Spontaneous remission is observed in approximately 50% of affected patients.
Current conservative treatments include dietary modifications (medium-chain triglycerides), lymphangiography, and sclerotherapy (silver nitrate).

Observation:

A case of spontaneous recumbent nonparasitic chyluria originating from the left kidney is presented.
The patient underwent endoscopic application of neodymium-YAG laser treatment twice.
This endoscopic laser application represents a novel approach not previously documented in the literature.

Findings:

The neodymium-YAG laser treatment resulted in the cessation of chyle flow for several months.

This indicates a temporary but significant therapeutic effect.

The treatment was performed following the failure of conservative management strategies.

Implications:

Endoscopic neodymium-YAG laser application may be a viable treatment option for nonparasitic chyluria.
Further investigation into this modality is warranted, particularly in cases refractory to conservative treatment.
This approach could offer an alternative to more invasive surgical procedures like nephrolysis.
