[Aging and family: a new perspective for nursing care]

Abstract:
This qualitative study aimed at comprehending the aging process in the family space, taking as parameters the relationship between generations. There were interviews with nine elders and its relatives which received treatnment by the Family Health Program in Sao Paulo city areas with effective social and economical differences. With the results taken by the research, we concluded that the relationship between generations is a important subject to be worked regarding the care to the elders and its families, because, if for one side, can be seen as a mutual help relationship, once that the elders are not only watched by its relatives, but they also care and help, and it's more visible at the poor families.
