Are depression and cognitive performance related in temporal lobe epilepsy?

Depression did not worsen cognitive deficits in temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE) patients, contrary to expectations. While right TLE patients showed expected verbal memory advantages, depression did not significantly impact overall cognitive skills in this group.
