Mild traumatic brain injury does not predict acute postconcussion syndrome

Acute postconcussion syndrome (PCS) is common in both mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) and non-brain injured patients. Pre-existing psychiatric conditions, female sex, and higher IQ predict acute PCS, suggesting it is not solely brain injury-related.
