Cardiac dysfunction in patients seropositive for the human immunodeficiency virus

Cardiac dysfunction is present in human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-positive patients, even without opportunistic infections. This study confirms that HIV can affect the heart at any stage of immunologic progression.
