  • A randomized controlled trial was conducted with 38 pediatric residents.
  • An instructional program on compact disc covered oral rehydration therapy, calcium, and vitamins.
  • Knowledge and attitudes were assessed via pre- and posttests and surveys.

Main Results:

  • The experimental group showed significantly improved posttest performance compared to the control group (P=0.0005).
  • The control group's performance declined between pre- and posttests.
  • Resident attitudes toward computer-based instruction improved, with many independently seeking more nutrition information.

  • This inexpensive, collaborative approach offers an effective model for nutrition education.
