Background:

Anterior ankle arthroscopy is the most frequent type of arthroscopic surgery on the foot and ankle.
Anterolateral and anteromedial portals provide straightforward access to the anterior ankle compartment.
Posterior portals have been developed to access the posterior ankle compartment.

Purpose of the Study:

To describe a surgical approach for complete ankle joint access.
To evaluate the utility of combined anterior and posterior portals.
To facilitate complete synovectomy of the ankle joint.

Main Methods:

Utilizing anterolateral and anteromedial portals for anterior ankle access.
Employing described posterior portals for posterior ankle compartment visualization.
Positioning the patient prone to combine anterior and posterior portal approaches.
