    Abstract:

    The structure of a large complex molecule, C(21)H(24)O(9), has been solved directly from neutron diffraction data by using sigma-2 and tangent refinement methods. As a consequence, the neutron diffraction technique must be reevaluated as a possible primary tool for crystal structure determination.
