    Summary

    Invasive hydatidiform mole can cause pulmonary lesions. Methotrexate therapy effectively treated these lesions in three patients, leading to complete remission.

    Background:

    • Invasive hydatidiform mole is a rare complication of molar pregnancy.
    • Pulmonary metastases from gestational trophoblastic disease can be life-threatening.

    Observation:

    • Three patients presented with pulmonary lesions.
    • Surgical exploration revealed molar tissue within the lesions.

    Findings:

    • Twice-weekly methotrexate administration resulted in complete clinical remission.
    • Biologic remission was also achieved in all three patients.

    Implications:

    • Methotrexate is an effective treatment for pulmonary lesions caused by invasive hydatidiform mole.
    • This highlights the importance of considering gestational trophoblastic disease in patients with unexplained pulmonary lesions.
