This study reports the first female case of laryngeal myxoma, a rare benign tumor often misdiagnosed as a vocal polyp. Surgical excision with surrounding tissue is crucial for preventing recurrence of this slow-growing connective tissue tumor.

- Pathologic diagnosis confirmed the vocal cord mass as a myxoma, a connective tissue tumor characterized by stellate cells in a mucopolysaccharide-rich stroma.
- Myxomas have a propensity for local recurrence due to their infiltrative nature.
Implications:
- Surgical excision of laryngeal myxoma must include surrounding normal tissue to minimize the risk of recurrence.
- Despite no detected recurrence in this case, the slow-growing nature of myxomas necessitates long-term patient follow-up.
