Pituitary tuberculoma is a rare condition, often missed even with a history of tuberculosis. Early consideration in differential diagnosis can lead to effective antitubercular treatment.

Background:

Tuberculous involvement of the pituitary gland is exceptionally rare.
It is often misdiagnosed as a pituitary adenoma, even in patients with a history of systemic tuberculosis.

Observation:

A case of pituitary tuberculoma is presented in a patient undergoing treatment for prostatic tuberculosis.
Diagnosis of sellar tuberculomas is challenging using clinical and radiological assessments.

Findings:

Pituitary tuberculomas should be included in the differential diagnosis for suprasellar masses.
This is particularly relevant in developing countries where tuberculosis is more prevalent.

Implications:

Considering pituitary tuberculomas can lead to prompt diagnosis and treatment.
