Influence of pH on stored human platelets

Platelet storage lesion is not caused by pH changes, but rather, platelets (PLTs) can tolerate a range of pH levels. Storing PLTs with plasma improves their quality and stability.

- The study suggests that pH decrease is a consequence, not a cause, of platelet storage lesion.
