Pulmonary and sinusal changes in 45 patients with primary immunodeficiencies: computed tomography evaluation

Pulmonary changes and chronic sinusitis are common in agammaglobulinemia (AG) and common variable immunodeficiency (CVID). However, lung lesion severity does not correlate with immunodeficiency type or sinus issues.

- Bronchiectasis was observed in both groups, but without statistical significance.
- Chronic sinusitis was detected in 41 of 45 patients, with no significant difference between AG and CVID groups.
- Longitudinal follow-up showed no correlation between bronchial and sinusal abnormalities.
Conclusions:
- CT imaging reveals that the type and severity of lung lesions in AG and CVID patients do not correlate with the specific immunodeficiency type.
- Sinus involvement severity also does not correlate with the extent or type of pulmonary lesions.
