This condition arises when air enters the space between the parietal and visceral pleura, disrupting the negative pressure essential for lung inflation.   • To assess the feasibility and efficacy of completion pneumonectomy in lung cancer management.

  • A retrospective review of 18 patients who underwent completion pneumonectomy between 1985 and 2000.
  • Patients had undergone the procedure for local recurrence, second primary lung tumor, or lung tumors after prior benign disease surgery.
