Summary

Small-group and individual hearing loss prevention (HLP) training significantly improved hearing protection device (HPD) performance. However, both training formats yielded similar results in attenuation and user attitude.

    • Training also positively impacted user attitudes towards HPDs.
    • No significant difference in effectiveness was found between small-group and individual training formats.

    Conclusions:

    • Both training formats are effective in enhancing HPD performance and user attitudes.
    • The delivery format (small-group vs. individual) does not appear to be a critical factor for HLP training success.
    • Findings support the integration of standardized training programs for HPD users.
