The changes in pulse transit time at specific cuff pressures during inflation and deflation

Pulse transit time (PTT) measurements are similar whether cuff pressure is inflated or deflated. PTT changes are primarily driven by cuff pressure levels, not the inflation or deflation process itself.

- No significant difference in PTT was observed between inflation and deflation methods for 12 out of 16 subjects.

- Pulse transit time changes are primarily influenced by the cuff pressure level.
- The method of reaching cuff pressure (inflation vs. deflation) has minimal impact on PTT when artery occlusion is not prolonged.
