[Obturation of lateral canals: necessary therapy or radiological satisfaction?]

Lateral canals are frequently endo-periodontal pathways. Filling lateral canals is not always necessary for a successful root canal treatment. Endo-perio lesions are bacterial in origin and lateral canals filling is only necessary when there is a chance for bacterial contamination: pulpal necroses, and deep periodontal pockets surrounding a lateral canal.
