Summary

Hemangiopericytoma is a rare vascular soft tissue tumor originating from pericytes.
Retrorectal masses are uncommon and can present diagnostic challenges.

Observation:

A case of a 49-year-old woman with a retrorectal hemangiopericytoma is presented.
The tumor was surgically excised using a posterior sagittal approach.
Detailed pathological examination, including immunohistochemistry, confirmed the diagnosis.

Findings:

Complete surgical resection of the retrorectal hemangiopericytoma was achieved.
Immunohistological stains confirmed the neoplastic cells' pericytic origin.
