[Primary hypoparathyroidism masked by hypocorticism and hyperthyroidism in polyglandular autoimmune disease]
Abstract:
The article deals with a case of a 20-year-old woman with polyglandular autoimmune disease expressed by hypocorticism and hyperthyroidism. During the first hospitalisation we noticed a transient hyercalcaemia. Therefore we could not make a true diagnosis of primary hypoparathyroidism that was masked in that way. After hydrocortison therapy and achievement of euthyroid state, hypocalcaemia appered as a consequence of primary low TH value. Then we concluded that primary hypoparathyroidism was a key to polyglandular autoimmune disease type. I. Nonendocrine organically specific autoimmune disorders were also associated with polyglandular autoimmunity like vitiligo and alopecia.
