Abstract:
Genomic research has made great progress to understanding functional roles in noncoding DNA sequences. In particular, approaches to identify regulatory elements with enhancer/silencer function based on the synergism between computational and experimental techniques are discussed. Such approaches have been applied to gene-directed as well as genome-wide investigations.
