Increasing rates of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) highlight potential shortcomings in current control programs.
Existing STI control strategies may not adequately address the needs of diverse subpopulations.
Understanding transmission dynamics within specific groups is crucial for effective public health interventions.

Purpose of the Study:

To investigate the patterns of STI transmission within distinct subpopulations.
To identify and characterize different groups involved in STI transmission.
To inform the development of targeted education and prevention programs for STIs.

Main Methods:

Analysis of routine partner notification data from individuals diagnosed with or exposed to STIs in Manitoba.
Application of social network analysis to map connections between individuals.
Utilisation of cluster analysis to identify distinct groups based on demographic and clinical factors.

Main Results:

Identification of three distinct clusters of individuals involved in STI transmission.
Characterization of these clusters based on demographic and clinical features, revealing significant differences.
