Abstract:
As is true in other areas of the face, gravity eventually results in stretching of the cutaneous portion of the upper lip. Although the lip-lift procedure was described almost 30 years ago, only a limited number of surgeons are familiar with the technique. The procedure is simple and effective, involving removal of an ellipse of skin and subcutaneous tissue from the portion of the upper lip immediately below the nostril base, and can be adjunctive to other rejuvenation procedures. This article discusses patient selection, technique, and ideal results for subnasal lip lift.
