Summary

Context:

Radical cystectomy is a standard treatment for muscle-invasive bladder cancer.
Minimally invasive techniques are increasingly explored to improve surgical outcomes.
Laparoscopic radical cystectomy presents a technically demanding but potentially beneficial approach.

Purpose:

To evaluate the initial experience and feasibility of laparoscopic radical cystectomy.
To assess perioperative outcomes and early oncological results of this technique.

Summary:

Sixteen laparoscopic radical cystectomies were performed with various urinary diversion techniques.
The procedure involved a median of 22.9 lymph nodes dissected.
Mean operative time was 340 minutes with an estimated blood loss of 350 ml, requiring transfusion in 3 cases.
