  • Sonographic appearance mimicked obstructive hydrocolpos but resolved after voiding.

Findings:

  • Fluoroscopic studies revealed abnormal urethral morphology and vesicovaginal reflux in three patients.
  • No significant anatomical abnormalities were identified, suggesting a functional etiology.

Implications:

  • Vesicovaginal reflux can present sonographically identical to obstructive hydrocolpos.
  • Dysfunctional voiding may underlie this presentation.
  • Postvoid sonography is essential for accurate diagnosis and differentiating from obstructive causes.
