Abstract:
Background. The aim of our study is to assess early results after revision arthroplasty in aseptic loosening of uncemented sockets.
Material and methods. We treated 14 patients (9 women and 5 men) in age ranging from 42 to 59 years (average age was 49 years). In 5 cases we exchanged also uncemented stem. All patients were qualified to revision arthroplasty after physical examination and taking radiological findings. In some cases we did CT scans and bone scintigraphy.
Results. In all cases we obtained good and satisfactory results.
Conclusions. Early surgical treatment can spare the patient from a risky procedure and lead to better results.
