Intraabdominal pressure changes associated with lifting: implications for postoperative activity restrictions

Lifting maneuvers and weight significantly impact intra-abdominal pressure (IAP). Squatting generates higher IAP than other lifts, and even minimal weight (≥2.5 kg) increases IAP.
