Abstract:
A simple and exact analytical expression is derived for the amount of broadening that a pulse suffers when it is subjected to the combined actions of polarization mode dispersion, chromatic dispersion, and chirping. The theory is then applied to various manifestations of second-order polarization mode dispersions.

Group polarization is the strengthening of an original group attitude following the discussion of views within a group (Teger & Pruitt, 1967).
