ER-beta expression in large bowel adenomas: implications in colon carcinogenesis

Oestrogen receptor-beta (ERB) is significantly reduced in pre-cancerous colorectal lesions, correlating inversely with cell proliferation. This suggests ERB agonists may help prevent colon cancer.
