Objective:
To explore the protective effect of folic acid on proliferation and differentiation of neural stem cells in vitro.
Methods:
On the 14th day of gestation, NSCs were obtained. MTT method was used to detect the proliferation of NSCs cultured with folic acid of different concentrations and time. After 6 days, the NSCs purified were placed into culture dishes of fetus bovine serum. On the seventh day of differentiation, double-tabeling immunofluorescence with antibody Nestin and BrdU was taken to calculate the number of NSCs by 8 fields of vision chosen randomly .
Results:
Comparing to control group, NSCs of folate group was increase and better, and significantly (P < 0.05).
Conclusion:
Folic acid may suppress proliferation and differentiation of NSCs efficiently.
