Abstract:
Open-angle glaucoma is a chronic disease usually requiring a patient to take medications for the rest of his or her life. Because of the expense and side effects of the medications and due to a lack of understanding of the condition, many patients do not take their medications properly, often leading to progressive damage. A written instruction sheet completed for each patient covering their medication dosage schedule is an aid that may subtly remind individuals to use their medications, reducing the problems associated with noncompliance.
