Serum leptin in systemic lupus erythematosus.

Serum leptin levels did not differ between systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) patients and controls. However, in SLE patients, lower leptin levels were associated with arthritis and central nervous system involvement, suggesting inflammation impacts leptin.
