Mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) diversity in Slovakia reveals common West Eurasian haplogroups, with rare sub-Saharan African lineages and Roma-specific Indian haplogroups (M5a1, M35) detected. New haplogroup J1a was identified in Roma and Slavic populations.
