Handedness in captive bonobos (Pan paniscus)

Summary

Bonobos (Pan paniscus) do not show species-level right-handedness, suggesting this trait evolved later in human (Homo) lineage. Inconsistent hand preferences in bonobos may be early indicators of human handedness.
