The second of a two-part series on workplace violence in the healthcare setting, this article highlights operational steps that decrease the probability of experiencing workplace violence. Bulleted lists include over 40 environmental and administrative suggestions to reduce violence. A downloadable risk assessment helps you determine which of the above strategies apply to your situation. Because it is likely impossible to prevent all healthcare workplace violence, a brief explanation of what to do if violence occurs follows.
