Forensic aspects of 'crack' abuse

Two cases of paranoid psychoses resulting from 'Crack' abuse are described. In each case the content of the delusions led to violence. These cases were referred to forensic psychiatric services for assessment, without prior contact with services for drug abusers. The importance of eliciting a full drug history in assessment of violent offenders is emphasized.
