Abstract:
Rough microsomes (RMs) are small vesicular fragments of the rough endoplasmic reticulum (ER). They can be used in cell-free protein translocation studies to analyze ER targeting signals, signal sequence cleavage, N-linked glycosylation, and membrane protein biogenesis.
