Angiography underestimates peripheral atherosclerosis: lumenography revisited

Peripheral arterial disease (PAD) angiography underestimates atherosclerosis burden. Histology reveals PAD arteries have more severe stenosis and larger diameters than angiograms show, even in "normal appearing" vessels.
