  • One group (n=47) received conventional teaching; the other (n=48) used mobiTED, an interactive CAL/CAT system.
  • Student learning was evaluated via examination and subjective experience protocols using visual analogue scales (VAS).
  • Main Results:

    • The CAL/CAT group achieved significantly higher examination scores (median 89.2%) compared to the conventional group (median 76.0%).
    • Subjective experience analysis via VAS showed statistically significant differences favoring the CAL/CAT system.
    • CAL/CAT use led to increased student attentiveness, acceptance, and perceived course attractiveness.

    Conclusions:

    • Interactive, problem-oriented CAL/CAT systems enhance student attentiveness, acceptance, and engagement in dental training.
    • CAL/CAT-mediated instruction improves communication, knowledge transfer, and cognitive assimilation of complex medical data.
    • This technology facilitates the acquisition, appraisal, and understanding of intricate patient-based medical information.
