Abstract:
The phenomenon of migration has gained a major role in our environs, both from a demographic viewpoint as in multiple social aspects. The author presents a vision of this migration phenomenon analyzing 1) demographic factors which are determining factors on the health of the immigrant population and 2) characteristics of the immigrant population's level of health. The author emphasizes the need to rely on truthful, reliable information regarding the reality of immigration which enables one to carry out unbiased analyses which help to take adequate decisions on public health issues and to provide quality care to the immigrant community in its entirety The author also insists that it is essential to include sensibility awareness about immigration as an integral part of this strategy.
